Drawing I (Beginning Drawing) Workshop

To attend this workshop you do not need any prior knowledge in drawing, only interest and willingness to learn.

This is an introductory class to the art of drawing as a creative process. Students will learn about line work, shading, perspective and practice experimenting with different drawing mediums. Students learn to accurately depict everyday objects and surroundings, and to develop an awareness of the world around them.

METHODOLOGY:
To allow students the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the materials and learn application methods. Students will apply techniques learned through exercises and learn to work in different black and white mediums: Graphite, Charcoal, Chalk and Ink. They will learn about the history of drawing and its role in society today. They will learn to see the world around them through the eyes of an artist.

CONTENT:
Students will begin to draw on newsprint paper and advance to drawing paper and poster board.
